She was the devoted mother and dearest friend of Lynne Kennedy, She was the much loved Nana of Alexis and Megan and special Gran-Nana to her four great-grandchildren, Brea, Ben, Sarah and Alexander. Her life long passion for education never left her. Educated at Calgary Normal School and the University of Alberta, teaching was her special joy and she stayed in touch with former students all her life. She loved to travel all over the world with her daughter and son-in-law Gerry, her granddaughters and their families. An avid golfer, lawn-bowler, bridge player, pianist, reader and follower of current events she was a participant in life, not an observer. Her family and many friends will miss her boundless energy, charm, humour, talent to speak her mind freely, and her incurable love of sweets, especially chocolate, and above all, her happy smile, good cheer and her excellent company. Our family wishes to give thanks to Haro Park Centre for the care they provided to Jessie, and especially for ensuring her comfort in her last days and hours.
