Hutchison -Lorna Luetta Hutchison of Brooks, beloved wife of the late Jack Hutchison, passed away at Sunrise Gardens on Sept. 26, 2019 at the age of 96 years. Lorna was born in Medicine Hat on April 28, 1923 to Thomas and Heather Murray. After receiving her education in Medicine Hat, she worked at Black’s Hardware until her marriage to the love of her life, Jack Hutchison on June 25, 1947. They lived in the mountains of British Columbia until moving to Rolling Hills in 1953 where she was a farm wife until 2000. Lorna loved her four children, twelve grandchildren, and twenty two great grandchildren and left a little sliver of her heart in each of us….whether it be her love of gardening, her gift for sewing and quilting, the way she could whip up a meal complete with dessert, her pleasure at being in the great outdoors camping or meandering walks collecting rocks or seashells, her enjoyment of a competitive game of cards, her affection for cats, or her dry sense of humour. Lorna also enjoyed rock collecting, travelling and family gatherings. She was predeceased by her husband Jack and her 5 siblings. Lorna will be greatly missed by her children; Dawn (Bob) Thomsen, Heather Smith, John (Marie) Hutchison, and Gwen (Spencer) Pledge as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 4th at Rolling Hills Community Hall at 2pm. Pastor Daryle Fox Officiating.
