    HUSTY – Doris Frances Husty of Hanna, beloved wife of the late Stanley Husty passed away peacefully on Jan. 17, 2019 in the Hanna Hospital at the age of 86. Doris was born on July 8, 1932 in Burfield, AB. 2nd daughter to Norman and Annie Dornan. She started her education in Connersville, ending up graduating in Hanna. Continuing her education she pursued her studies in Calgary in the Nursing Aid program, graduating Dec 4, 1953. She was employed at the Brooks Hospital from 1954 to 1958. Doris married Stanley Husty Aug. 16, 1958, residing on the farm northeast at Duchess. She dedicated her life to raising six children. Doris was happiest working outside. She always grew a picture perfect garden with a huge raspberry patch. She loved to work with farm animals from milking cows to raising chickens. In later years Stan and Doris grew a fruit orchard which won them many awards and ribbons. Doris retired to Brooks in the fall of 2006 to the Pioneer Villa and in 2018 to the Hanna Lodge. Doris was predeceased by her husband Stanley, parents Norman and Annie Dornan and sister Margaret. She is survived by her three daughters, Audrey (Alec) Godkin of Cochrane, Norma (Brad) Slorstad of Sunnynook, Carla (Ed) Gillen of Brooks and three sons, Rodney Husty of Calgary, Les (Dokkhun) Husty of Brooks, Bill (Rhonda) Husty of Redcliff, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, brother Lawrence (Pat) Dornan of Brooks, sister Cathy Wiens of Scapa, sister in-laws Mary Buck of Hanna and Frances Loewen of Vauxhall. Mom and her family are forever grateful to Dr. van der Linde, Dr. Mdawe, the Home Care and Palliative Care team and the wonderful nursing staff at Hanna Hospital. A memorial service will be celebrated at Thom’s Funeral Home in Duchess, Sat., Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations in memory of Doris may be made to Hanna Ladies Auxiliary, Box 23, Hanna AB.
