HORWOOD – It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin, Wilson Lister Horwood, who passed away peacefully in Brooks, Alberta on Thursday, April 5th, 2018. Wilson was the 5th child of Fredrick and Lillian Horwood, and was born in Durrell, Newfoundland and Labrador on January 15th, 1942. He moved to southern Alberta after an amazing 36 year career of teaching in Newfoundland and Labrador, and Arviat, Nunavut. Wilson had great compassion for others be it through his teaching or simple tasks of helping those in his life. He passed away surrounded by his immediate family, as he wished his short battle with terminal cancer remain within the family. During this time his wife, his children and their spouses, and his grandchildren were able to visit and share many precious moments with him. He is predeceased by his parents Fredrick and Lillian Horwood, and brothers Maxwell and Ronald Horwood. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years – Minnie Horwood, and son Keith Horwood (Barb) and grandson Michael and granddaughter Sarah, daughter Kathy (John) Klassen, and daughter Kristy (Blair) Romas and granddaughters Meghan and Madison. Brothers Lloyd (Betty), Eric (Irene), Marvin (Barb), and sister Joyce, along with extended family and friends. Private funeral services will be held amongst immediate family members.
