HIEBERT – Candace Lorraine (Lorrie) Hiebert was born May 25,1972 to proud parents Brad and Sharon. She was the first grandchild and niece in the family, thus getting a lot of love and attention. She was the apple of her Dad’s eye from day one. They enjoyed many hours of fishing and dirt biking, often with her uncle and cousins tagging along. In her younger years she enjoyed baseball, hockey, playing the accordion and piano. She had an aptitude for mechanical and electrical things, which she put to use on her 69 Chevy truck. She loved to cruise around in her truck, tunes blasting with her loud stereo system. Music was a big part of her life and she spent countless hours making the best mix tapes. She graduated from Brooks Composite High School in 1990 and went on to attend SAIT. She settled back in Brooks and began working for the family business, Brooks Taxi, for many years. Those who knew Lorrie knew she had a unique outlook on life. She kept her circle small but could easily start a conversation with a complete stranger and be good friends with them a month later.
Lorrie had great compassion for her feline companions and throughout the years took in many strays or found them homes. She had a very generous heart in her earlier years and was always willing to lend a hand to friends and family.
She is survived by her special nieces, Desteny and Brigette, her stepmother, Valerie Hiebert, her sisters, Crystal Mackenzie, Jacqueline Gartshore and Karri Daoust and their families along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She is predeceased by her mother, Sharon Mackenzie Tessman, her father, Brad Hiebert, her brother, Bradley Hiebert, her grandfathers George Hiebert and Herman Anderson, grandmother Laura Anderson and her most favourite person in the world, her grandmother, Olive Hiebert.
The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to Pastor Garth Everett for being Lorrie’s person. You made her feel safe, heard and loved and we will be forever grateful to you for being there for her when we couldn’t.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Southern Alberta FASD Network or B.A.P.S.
