Heppner – Margaret Andora Heppner (born Margit Andora Nelson) was born to Ralph and Ellen Nelson on the family homestead near Rose Valley, SK on Jan. 27, 1922. She left us peacefully at the age of 100 on June 24, 2022, in Brooks, AB. Margaret met Frank Heppner at Nipawin Bible College, SK and they were married in 1948. Their marriage of 62 years was blessed by three children: Karen, Clarice and Oral. During their life together, they worked in various places including Morley School, AB. They also traveled to Norway (and many other ports) as Margaret kept detailed history of her Norwegian heritage. They were both dedicated Christians and served with the Evangelical Free Church their entire lives, helping others as much as possible. Margaret was also a valued volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Calgary for over 20 years. Margaret moved to Brooks in 2014 to live with her sister, Anna. She later moved into her own home in Orchard Manor. She was a gracious host to many people over the years. She was loved dearly by her children and grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many others. Margaret was predeceased by Frank, Clarice, Oral, her parents, and eight siblings, and several extended family members. She leaves behind her daughter Karen Robson (Erwin), granddaughters Chrystal Stadel (Ian) and Jacquie Robson (Stacey), and siblings Inga McKinnon, Arliene Nelson (George), Ruth Wagner (Lloyd), and Helmer Nelson (Muriel), many extended family members and friends. No Service will be held at this time, with interment at a future date at Travers Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Epilepsy Canada, or Southern Alberta Bible Camp. Thank you, Orchard Manor Age Care in Brooks for being a home to Margaret these past 4 years and to the Doctors, Nurses and hospital staff in the Brooks Hospital for their thorough and gentle care for her in her last 6 weeks. Margaret, mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend will be remembered and loved.
