Harrison – Evelyn Helene Harrison of Brooks, Alberta, beloved wife of the late Sid Harrison, passed away in Brooks on Tuesday, August 13th, 2019 at the age of 91 years. Evelyn was born on the farm near Piapot, Saskatchewan on February 5th, 1928. She was raised to be a hard worker and continued that her whole life, a true “Farm Girl”. Evelyn met Sid, who lived on a farm near her and they were married in 1949. Together they had 4 children, Eric and his wife Florence of Strathmore, Alberta, Nancy Lyster and her husband Glen of Brooks, Kevin and his wife Debbie of Seven Persons, Alberta and Tracy and his wife Erin of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan and now 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Evelyn worked hard on the farm and earned her Real Estate License, working for Century 21. She also bought rental properties and was very successful in her field. Evelyn started pottery as a hobby and was very involved in running the guild. She made many good friends there and our family all have many chili bowls to remember her by, which came from their fund raisers every year. Evelyn always supported her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in whatever they were involved with. She is predeceased by her parents Henry and Edith Borman and 2 brothers, Bob and Doug Borman. Her sister Ardis, the youngest of the family is living in Medicine Hat. Ardis’ son Steven took over the family farm near Seven Persons and her daughter Stephanie (Jim) Richmond lives on a ranch near Three Hills, Alberta. Evelyn was a great story teller with a great memory of the past. She loved to recite poetry and never missed a chance to go to a cowboy poetry event. Evelyn will be remembered with a smile by all who had the pleasure of her company. Funeral services will be held on Friday August 23rd at 2:00 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel. Mr. BJ Grove emcee. In memory of Evelyn, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
