Professionally, Al was a dedicated worker for CP Rail, Island Implements, and the County of Forty Mile during his early life in Southern Alberta. In 2005, Alan retired from the RCMP and returned to his roots in Southern Alberta, taking up residence in Brooks. Although officially retired, Al continued working in Brooks until 2015 with McConnell Welding/Clearstream Energy as an Operations Manager. Following his second retirement, Alan enjoyed having more time to ride his Gold Wing motorcycle with his fellow Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club and special lady Marcie Montean. He was also a proud member of the RCMP Veterans Association and the Royal Canadian Legion. Alan always said that his greatest accomplishment was being a father and grandfather; or, Papa, as he was known to them. Alan is survived by his daughter, Kim, her husband Julian Skin and their four children: Dane (Elyse), Cael, Teagan, and Lachlan of Dawson Creek, BC. He is also survived by his son, Jason, his wife Irene and their three children: Moses, Eli, and Ruby of Santa Rosa, CA, USA.
