GRIMSHAW – Trevor Edwin Grimshaw

    GRIMSHAW – Trevor Edwin Grimshaw, 75, of Salmon Arm, passed away on June 9th 2023, surrounded by loved ones, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
    Trevor was born on April 23rd, 1948 to Maurice and Grace Grimshaw in Brooks, Alberta. In 1964, Trevor met Linda Darlene Slatter. Trevor and Linda were married in 1967 and went on to have 2 sons, Arvin and Bradley Grimshaw.
    Trevor was an accomplished pilot, having flown both helicopter and fixed wing airplanes all over Northern Canada and the USA. Trevor worked with the department of fish and wildlife in wildlife relocation, ocean cartography, Cariboo sustainability projects and is a lifetime member of the Rocky Mountain Sheep Foundation for his work. Trevor was a distinguished rescue and medivac pilot, receiving several commendations and amassing nearly 20,000 flight hours.
    Trevor retired in 1996 and enjoyed his time working with his hands and enjoying his hobbies. Trevor was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, wildlife and the natural beauty of the earth.
    Trevor was predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Grace Grimshaw and his sister Marylyn Banek. Trevor is survived by his brother Allan Grimshaw, his sons Arvin and Bradley (Denise) Grimshaw and his grandchildren Jenna, Clayton, Tysen and Adam.
    Services will be held at Bowers Funeral Home on June 20th at 1:00 pm, with reception to follow. Trevor will be interred at the Brooks Cemetery in Brooks, AB on June 24, 2023 at 10:00 am. A reception at the Heritage Inn in Brooks will follow the interment service.
    The family wishes to send a special thank you to the oncology department at Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Dr. Skubiak, Nicole, Suzan and Krista from Shuswap Home and Community Care, and the Kelowna BC Cancer Center for their exceptional care.
