    GODOR (September 7, 1933 – March 26, 2018) Zoltan Godor of Duchess, AB, passed away in Brooks on Monday, March 26 at the age of 84 years. Born in Hungary, Zoltan met his wife Anna and was married on February 21, 1953. In 1954 they welcomed their first child, Zoltan (Junior) and seeking a better life, in 1957 he moved to Canada with his wife and son. In 1960 his daughter Susan was born and the family moved from Brooks to Calgary in 1964, where they would raise their children. In 1992 they moved from Calgary to Bassano where they retired. Zoltan’s wife Anna passed away in 2013 and a few years later Zoltan moved to Duchess where he resided until his passing. Zoltan was an exceptional carpenter and showed a passion for many sports, such as soccer, football, hockey and boxing. He enjoyed the great outdoors and spent leisure time camping, hiking, and riding his bike. Family and friends were of great importance to Zoltan, particularly all his grandkids, Stephen Hoefling (wife Suzanne & great-granddaughter Emma), Matthew Hoefling (wife Julia), Daniel Hoefling (wife Jamie), Louis Godor (wife Malesa and great-granddaughter Charlotte), and Mitchell Godor; he loved his grandchildren so very much. He is also survived by his son, Zoltan Godor, daughter Susan (Barry Hoefling), and a brother, Joseph (in Hungary). He was predeceased by his wife Anna in February 2013. A funeral service for Zoltan will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Thom’s Funeral Home at 1:30 pm, Rev. Alvin Penner Officiating.
