GIL – Carol Gil, 60, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 surrounded by family. She is survived by her Husband, Juan; Daughter, Karin; Son, Andres; Son, Juan; Sister, Dina (Betty); Brother, Carlos; Sister, Cecila; Sister, Ursula; and by many beloved family and friends. Carol was born on November 17, 1963 in Piura, Peru to Gladys and Carlos Gil.
Carol inspirationally focused on helping others and made a huge impact within the community. She touched the lives of many in her position as the Program Manager at the SPEC Association for Children and Families. Over the years Carol also volunteered and made a difference to many community organizations. To name a few, she was involved with the Parents Teacher Association, Rotary Club, Toastmasters Club, Catholic Women’s League, Brooks & Newell Safe Communities, and Habitat for Humanity. She was also a recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Citizenship Award.
Carol was a woman of faith who passionately cared for everyone in her life. She will be missed as a Daughter, a Mother, an Aunt, and a Friend. To celebrate Carol’s life there will be a funeral service held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 15, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brooks Alberta. The family would like all guests to attend in white attire to remember Carol’s beautiful life and all of her incredible accomplishments.
