FOCHERT – June Lake Forchert was born on January 30, 1931. She was the second of five children born to Minnie and Owen Lake of Duchess. June grew up and received her schooling in Duchess and Brooks. After graduation she moved to Calgary where she attended Business College. June married Arnold Forchert in April 1960. They had two daughters Crystal and Lenora. June‘s career included managing an office for six doctors, secretarial work for various oil and gas companies, wedding consultant, Bridge Instructor, and ending her working years as an optometrists assistant. June had many interests and many friends and led a full, adventurous life. She enjoyed travel, skeet shooting, curling, watching sports and playing piano. June was a competitive contract bridge player and achieved the elite status of Gold Life Master! Bridge fit well with her love of travel as she competed in many tournaments in various destinations. June returned to her roots in 2011 making Sunrise Gardens in Brooks her home. Her love of life and others continued to be evident until her passing on October 12, 2018 surrounded by those she loved. June is survived by her two daughters Crystal (Greg) Sugden, Lenny (Rocky) Bolhoven; grandsons, Mike and Jack Sugden; brother, Hubert (Betty) Lake; sister, Joyce Snell, many nieces, nephews and special friend Helen Molloy. She was predeceased by her parent’s Minnie and Owen Lake; brother, Keith Lake; sister, Mary Anne Schuster and companion Henry Ho; to know June was to love June. Celebration of Life to be held Monday, October 22, 2018 at 11:30 AM at Thom’s Funeral Home and Reception Centre.
