John Roderick “Rod” Edwards passed away, Friday, October 27, 2017 at Foothills Country Hospice, at the age of 89 years. Rod was an avid hunter and fisherman, hunting guide, unabashed red neck, rancher, farmer, entrepreneur, story teller and debater of politics. He was confident, generous, honest, hardworking and a family man. He has headed to the happy hunting grounds where the season is always open. Rod is survived by, his loving wife Bernice; children: Terry, Curt, Marilyn (Ron), and Bruce (Adele); grandchildren: Aaron, Shawn, Joel, Amy, Kimberly, Christina, Diana, Matthew, and Jesse; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Rod was predeceased by, his parents Jack and Edith (nee Kresge); sisters Penny (Wheeler) and Helen (Heinrichs); brother Richard “Dick”; and daughter Wendy. Relatives and Friends are invited to pay their respects at the Okotoks Alliance Church (322183 – 15 Street E; on the NW corner of 338 Avenue and Highway 2A) on Sunday November 12, 2017 at 2:15 pm.
