    Duxbury – Richard Wayne Duxbury of Brooks, beloved husband of Sheila Duxbury, passed away in Brooks on Tuesday, November 13th, 2018 at the age of 74 years. Wayne was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on April 22nd, 1944 and Graduated from Medicine Hat High School. He married Sheila Lorraine Walker on July 29th, 1972 in Brooks and resided in Brooks. Wayne worked for the County of Newell – Payroll Clerk, retired from the Brooks Bulletin after 25 years as a Printing Press Operator. Wayne retired due to illness at the age of 60. Wayne had a love for the outdoors, more specifically camping with friends and family and the Brooks Dino-Trailers camping club. He attended many of the Brooks Bandits hockey games and enjoyed playing Monday Night Bingo at the Villa’s. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and had a huge love for his pets, especially his Yorkie named Sasha. He was an active member of the Brooks Dino-Trailers and a former member of the Brooks Lions Club. Wayne will best be remembered for his outgoing friendly personality and infectious smile. Wayne always had a way to strike up conversation with someone and make them feel comfortable. Wayne had great attention to detail, spell check and balancing his cheque book. He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Rhoda Duxbury, his father and mother-in-law Ron and Dorothy Walker and sister-in-law Melanie Thiessen. Wayne is survived by his loving wife and partner of 46 years Sheila Duxbury; his children Tammy (Kevin) Thokle of Medicine Hat, Kevin Duxbury (Rhonda Dunne) of Brooks, LaRae Reinson (Glenn Ferris) of Brooks, Lonny (Silvia) Duxbury of Brooks, Becki (Steve) Mravunac of Calgary and Brenda Florence of Calgary; grandchildren – Richard, Jennifer (Thereon Hemmaway), Nathan Thokle all of Medicine Hat, Kody, Cory Duxbury of Strathmore, Cole and Tyler Reinson of Brooks, Emily, Trista and Olivia Duxbury of Brooks, Justin and Tyson Mravunac of Calgary; great granddaughter Serenity Rebmann of Medicine Hat; sister-in-law Julie (Gary) Tunrbull; brother-in-law Don (Penny) Walker along with numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends on Saturday, November 17th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM from Pioneer Villa #3, 320 – 4th Street West, Brooks. In memory of Wayne, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Brooks and District Health Foundation for Dialysis Machine, Bag 300, Brooks, Alberta   T1R 1B3.
