Drake – Sharyn Judith Drake formerly of Rolling Hills, AB passed away peacefully in Medicine Hat on Feb. 4, 2022 at the age of 77 years. Sharyn was born in Drumheller, AB on April 27, 1944 to Roy and Evelyn Peterson. She married Doug Drake April 15, 1966. They resided in Calgary and Patricia, before moving to Rolling Hills in the early 1970’s. Mom has resided at Newbrook Lodge for the last 2 years. She worked as a Health Care Aide for numerous years, before retiring in 1999. Mom enjoyed travelling, golf, slowpitch, baseball, curling and wine tours. Mom also enjoyed following all the kids’ sports & activities. Sharyn was predeceased by her husband Doug. She is survived by her daughter Diane Colbens husband Mark, son Bentley (Summer); son, Cam wife Shannon daughters, Samantha, Kierra and Kaleigh; son, Kevin (Jennel), daughter Charlize and son Maximus; great grandchildren Layklon and Hudson; sisters Lorraine and Deanne and numerous nieces and nephews. Due to government’s Covid restrictions a Family Service was held for immediate family on Friday, Feb. 11 at 4:00 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel. Service officiated by Rev. Debbie Daniels. Interment to follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery. Special thanks to staff at Newbrook Lodge and Home Care for all the compassion and care the past couple years. If friends and family desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to Rolling Hills Golf and Country Club for the Jr Golf Program, General Delivery, Rolling Hills, Alberta T0J 2S0.
