    Doherty – Guy William Doherty of Brooks, Alberta, passed away in Brooks on Wednesday, March 5th, 2025 at the age of 70 years. Guy was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 5th, 1954 to John and Doreen Doherty. He spent his youth in Vancouver, attending Gladstone Secondary High School and then moved to Brooks in 1980. Guy worked as a Journeyman Carpenter and then as a Journeyman Hairdresser, opening Headlines Hair Studio and then moving on to open Hair Tech, which he operated for over 30 years, until his retirement in 2021. He enjoyed rock music and worked at a record store in Vancouver in his youth and attended many concerts and shows in the Seatle and Vancouver area. Guy loved restoring cars and built many project cars. He enjoyed building and creating things and spending times with his dogs. Guy’s family and friends will fondly remember him for his kind heart, willingness to show up to help family and friends in need and his sense of humour, you would never know what he was going to say. He was predeceased by parents, Jack and Doreen Doherty, siblings Gary Doherty and Lyn Vanderlinde and nephew Dylan Denault. Guy is survived by his partner, Carol Jasman; sons, Jesse (Meghan) Doherty and Dallas (Chelsea) Doherty; stepdaughters, Angela and Kerrie; siblings, Zale Yardley, Shawn Doherty and Erin Denault; grandchildren, Tayin, Tye, Liam, Kaitlyn, Violet, Ethan, Declynn and Chloe; great granddaughter Florence and many nieces and nephews. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In memory of Guy, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to either Brooks Animal Protection Society, Box 36, Brooks, Alberta   T1R 1B3 or Parkinsons Society, 1111 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta   T 2K 0L4.
