    DESJARDINS – Melody-Anne Marie Desjardins, 59, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024, in Calgary, Alberta. Preceded in death by her father John Felix Desjardins (1935 –2022) brother Roger (1959 – 2019), daughter May Lee Weeks (1983 – 2022). grandparents Alexander and Delphine Desjardins and John and Mary Lee. She is survived by her son Matthew (Hailey) grandson Axton, grandson Daniel (May Lee) and granddaughter Deanna (May Lee). She is also survived by her mother Donna Mae Desjardins and her siblings, brother Roger’s wife Cynthia and their children Courtney (Chris), Sheldon (Lykke), Brendon (Stacey), brother Richard (Lori) and their children Daniel (Melissa), Justin (Hilary), Nathan (Rebecca), Andrew (Trish), Dillon, sister Angela-Jean (Greg), children Christa (Chanley), Shanna (Sean), Katie (Duke), and brother Eugene (Bojana) and their children Tia (Daniel), Nadia, and Roman. Melody-Anne leaves to mourn 37 great-grand nieces and nephews. Also mourning her loss are her best friends JP Belanger and Karen Hickey along with numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
    Melody was born January 10, 1965 and became the chosen daughter of John and Donna Desjardins on January 24, 1966. She joined a family of 5 and in 1969 her younger brother Eugene was born. In her younger years Melody attended school in Tilley participating in Brownies and Girl Guides, achieving the highest honor of Canada Cord. Melody was active in sports playing soft ball, volleyball, badminton, track and field and basketball throughout her school years. Melody enjoyed swimming and obtained her level three lifesaving course. In the summer she enjoyed canoeing, winning many medals throughout the years in the Southern Alberta summer games.
    Melody moved to Calgary in 1982 where she married Kurt Weeks. On April 4th , 1983 her daughter May Lee was born. Her son Matthew was born on September 30, 1992. Melody moved to Montreal for a couple of years before moving back to southern Alberta and then into Calgary in 2000 where she resided until her death.
