Closs – David Shawn “Pudge” Closs of Brooks, lost his battle with cancer on Saturday, February 8th, 2020 at the age of 59 years and has joined his best friend, wife and soul mate Robin, where they can ride to their hearts content. Shawn was born in Kingston, Ontario on May 17th, 1960 to Harold and Beatrice Closs. Shawn loved to garden and spend long hours outside attending to the yard as well as camping and hunting. His favorite thing to do was jump on his Harley and see were the road would take him and Robin. Shawn worked in the oil patch while living in Alberta and Manitoba. Robin and Shawn also owned their own Greenhouse businesses in Alberta and Ontario. Shawn was predeceased by his loving wife Robin, parents Harold and Bea Closs, mother-in-law Carol Wheeler, brother in-law Kevin Wheeler and many good friends and relatives. Shawn is survived by his loving sister Darlene; brothers-in-law Russel Love and Terry Klus; sisters-in-law, Jackie Wheeler and Candace (Wesley) Suhai; nieces; Kaitlin, Hanna, Callie Suhai, and nephew Calib Wheeler, along with many other family and friends. They will miss his long expressive stories, that made those who had the privilege of hearing laugh until they cried. Shawn’s final wish was to forgo a funeral service and when the weather is nicer, to have an interment at Brooks Cemetery and a big barbeque and party to celebrate his life. All are welcome to attend the barbeque on Saturday, May 23rd, 2020 from 2:00 until 6:00 PM at 23 Spruce Avenue, in Brooks. In memory of Shawn, if friends desire, donations can be made directly to a charity of choice.
