Christiansen – Dale Brian Christiansen A.K.A. (“Jack“) beloved husband to Molly (A.K.A. “Lindy Lou”), father, grandfather, uncle & sibling passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 5th at the too young age of 72 years. Dale was born to Erland & Esther on July 7th, 1951, in Brooks, AB. where he grew up on the family farm with his sister Sharon & younger brother Rick. Dale did his schooling in Tilley and attended youth group there as well, where one fateful night he met his future wife, Lynn Wibberley. Their love grew & they married in Tilley on Nov.16th 1974, they built a home on the acreage and settled beside Erland’s farm where they could raise their 3 children close to family & friends. As Dale had grown up farming, he was handy at fixing equipment & started a job at Tirol dehydrators, it was there he began doing extras & soon was doing all the welding repairs that were needed. A PASSION was born, he apprenticed welding in 1977 under Whitey Norden where he became affectionately known as DC, then in 1980 started his own company under DC Welding, which he ran diligently until his retirement. Over dad’s long career he became well respected for his skill, insights & ingenuity, he just had a way of seeing things that others did not, usually a better way! He worked for many businesses in Brooks over the years, finishing up working in the shop for the guys at Chance, he was well known in the oilfield for his excellence & quality of work, even re-designing then building equipment to send up to Grande Prairie. Never one to forget his farming roots, Dale set up tables outside his shop on the farm so all the locals could come by & drop parts off that needed repair, while he was out working. He frequently spent his time at night welding to help our friends & neighbours put farm equipment back together so they could get back out in the fields. Dale welded until the day he retired in May of 2020 after 40 years, he spent most of those happy years on the acreage with his loving wife Lynn at his side. Once kids had finally vacated the house Dale was able to purchase his Honda Goldwing & his second passion for biking kicked off! Many a weekend was spent touring across the provinces & fellowshipping with friends, one thing was for sure, if work was done & the sun was shining Dad was on the bike & off to somewhere. Dale was extremely active in the church, he loved to sit with & minister to family & friends in his home, he had a big heart, frequently going above & beyond to help those around him in any way that he could. Dale & Lynn were married for 49 great years over which they created many wonderful memories with each other and their family. Dale is survived by his wife Lynn; his sister Sharon Burt; his brother Rick (Kathie); children, Michael, Shannon Martin (Dallas) & Kathy Rice; numerous grandchildren, Alexander, Amelia & Jennifer Rice, Jordyn, Kelli, Cameron & Kacey Martin, Taylor Hudon, Ethan & Masyn Christiansen, as well as his nieces & nephews, Robert Burt & Karla Kelly, Matthew & Katelyn Christiansen. Dale had a kind soul, was generous and always hospitable, he loved his family & friends deeply, he was loved & admired, we will all miss him very much. A family graveside service was held at Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery, Tilley. Funeral services were held on Friday, October 13th at 1:00 PM from the Brooks Evangelical Free Church.
