Chiacchia – Mr. Romano Chiacchia, passed away peacefully in Brooks, Alberta on Friday, August 31st, 2018 at the age of 84 years. Romano was born on July 24th, 1934 in San Valentino, Pescara, Italy. He spent most of his career as a foreman working for XL Beef in Calgary, until he retired 1997 and moved to Brooks. Romano loved being involved with his son business; Brooks Meat Packers and enjoyed his many gardens. Romano is survived by his loving wife Marlene (Tina) of 58 years and his children, Paolo Chiacchia and his wife Melody and Michael Chiacchia and his wife Marilyn; grandchildren, Megan Chiacchia, Brandon Chiacchia, Shelby Chiacchia, Connor Chiacchia and Jeremy Tinling; siblings, Maria Chiacchia, Corrado Chiacchia (Lucia), Rocco Chiacchia (Giuseppina), Adina Arcari (Alfonso) Concetta D’Orazio (Valentino) and Emidio Faba (Maria), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family. He was predeceased by parents Alfonso and Santa; brothers Antonio and Nicola; sisters-in-law, Maria and Palmina; brother-in-law, Corrado. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 29th, 2018 at 11:00 AM from St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brooks. Rev. Marino Infante Celebrant.
