    BOYD – Harvey Lloyd Boyd
    March 9, 1940 – April 12, 2024
    84 Years.

Sixth child of eight, born to parents Alice (Stonehouse) and Frank Boyd. Harvey grew up on their farm and lived there all of his life. Countless rocks picked, many fields plowed and harvested. In his younger years, Harvey did farm and ranch work for others in the Milo area, as well as his own farming. Harvey met Sylvia in 1961 and they married in Arrowwood in 1964. Harvey and Sylvia purchased the parents farm at the age of 21 he and his siblings were raised on. They built a new house in 1973 (the same year he acquired his pilot’s licence in Lethbridge). He purchased a Cessna and became a member of Flying Farmers of Alberta.
They raised four sons on the farm and they were put to work before their feet could even reach the floor of the tractor. Harvey made many friends and enjoyed traveling with Sylvia. They hosted many extended family get-togethers and a large reunion in 2010. Sylvia developed Parkinson’s disease in 1992 and he cared for her until her passing in 2016. Harvey crossed paths with an old friend, Jean Holden, who had previously lost her husband. They went to many “Jams” (dances) together and enjoyed each other’s company. She eventually moved in with Harvey and helped care for him until his passing.
Predeceased by parents Alice and Frank, brothers Murry and Gordon. Survived by sisters Verna, Ruth, Eileen, Valerie and Bonnie. Sons Jim (Kelly), Roy, Dennis (Dina) and Dale. Grandchildren Amy (Drew), Scott (Cianna), Dallas (Amber), Shane (Tianna), Cody (Katrina), Jenna and Evan. Great-grandchildren Jax, Blake, Max and Alanna.
Celebration of Life to be held at Cassils Hall (6 kms west of Brooks on Cassils Road from #36) Monday, April 22 at 11:00 am.
