It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Kelly Becker.

Kelly was born in Calgary Alberta on September 03, 1964 and passed away on November 02, 2024 in Brooks, Alberta.

He was raised in Bassano, Alberta in a large, busy family and loved hockey.  Playing it, watching it and talking about it. He was most happy sitting with his friends, watching “the game” and having a beer!  As a young man, he worked in his family’s restaurant in Bassano where he eventually met our mom and they were married and started their family.  A move to Kamloops after their first child was born saw him working for Greyhound Bus Lines for 10 years, a job he loved and gave him great pride.  He also loved playing golf with his work buddies and won many awards, which he was always most proud of.  But the things that brought him the most joy in his life were his kids.  He never missed a game or a chance to cheer them on through whatever they were doing in life.  That joy and pride never changed, right until the day he left us.  He beamed whenever you mentioned his kids and then his grandkids.  His love for them was unconditional.

Life brought Dad and his family back to Brooks in his final years where he eventually ended up in the Brooks Extended Care with a disability that left him unable to care for himself.  We are so very grateful for all the care, compassion and love that was shown to our dad while he was in there!

Kelly is survived by his three precious children; Christopher Becker (Kim) and their three children, Destiny, Hailey and Caellum; Daniel Becker and his son Carson and his daughter, Miranda Nedd.  He is also survived by his brothers; Donald Becker, Richard Becker, Robert Becker, his sister Brenda Perrilat, along with their families and his father, Harold Becker (Donna)and many aunts, uncles, cousins and his former spouse and friend, Shannon Vanderloh (Bruce).  Kelly was predeceased by his mother, Beatrice Becker.

A Celebration of Life was be held on Friday November 8th at 2pm at Thom’s Funeral Home, Duchess Alberta and Kelly will be laid to rest in Airdrie, AB at a later date.

Donations to the Brooks Extended Care in Brooks, Alberta in lieu of flowers would be gratefully accepted.
