ANDERSON – Herbert James Anderson, loving, committed husband and father, passed away December 27, 2016 in Brooks, AB surrounded by his heart-broken family. Herb was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan, the 10th of 13 children. He is survived by his wife Lenore, daughters Barbara (Brad Rhodes), Nancy (Chad Neifer), Jill (Matt Hill), and son Travais (Shanna Sunley) and four grandchildren (Jinelle, Henrik, Ellerie, Geordie).
Herb and family moved to Brooks in 1978 where he spent most of his career working in the oil and gas fields of South Eastern Alberta. Herb was an active community member, including the Elks, Big Country Oilmen’s Association, Brooks Golf Course, Brooks Curling Club, coaching his children’s minor baseball and hockey teams and playing with the “Red Old & Cold” old timer’s hockey.
In his retirement he enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling to England and Europe, and watching/yelling/cheering for the Brooks Bandits, Brooks Bombers, Toronto Blue Jays and the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Funeral services will be held at the Brooks United Church at 1 pm January 6th.
