Allen – Annie Peterina Allen of Brooks passed away in Brooks on October 6th, 2006 at the age of 92 years. Born in Earling, Alberta on June 4th, 1914, Annie received her education in Whitlaw, Alberta. Annie married Everett Allen in 1933 in Medicine Hat and moved to Brooks in 1939. She worked for Carol’s Fashions and other retail stores in Brooks. Annie was a former member of The Order of Royal Purple. She loved her family, gardening, flowers, playing cards, bowling, curling and cooking for her family. Annie will be remembered for her flowers and her beautiful yard. She was predeceased by her husband Everett, two sisters, Cora Wagar and Nannie Anderberg and a brother Ben Fodness. Annie is survived by her loving family; son, Dwayne and his wife Isabelle of Kamloops, BC; three daughters, Darla Bryson and her husband Jim of Chase, BC; Dolores Scott and her husband Jock of Brooks; Doreen Wombold and her husband Laverne of Calgary; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 11th at Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. George Edmonds officiated. Honorary Pallbearers are all of Annie’s family and friends. Active Pallbearers are John Scott, Darrell Bryson, Mark Allen, Dan Dowler, Keith Guillet and Kasy Kaczanowski. Interment followed at Brooks Cemetery.
