Dorothy of De Winton passed away at the South Campus Hospital in Calgary November 2, 2017. She was born May 23, 1920 in Ainsworth Nebraska and moved with her family to the Brooks area in 1931. This is where she attended the country schools. Dorothy graduated from Olds School of Agriculture in 1939.
Dorothy married her sweetheart Jim Airth on February 14, 1943. They farmed at Madden and finally settled on their new farm at De Winton in 1949. Together they built up their beautiful farm and raised cattle. Dorothy was active in the De Winton community, & belonging to the “sewing circle”. She supported and always attended the Olds College Alumni. She attended the annual reunion in July.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Jim, 3 brothers & 1 sister. She is survived by her sons Bob, Ian and daughter in-law Donna, grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives.
At her request, a private family graveside service will be held at Brooks Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with Jim.
