Aebly – Ernest J. Aebly of Jenner, passed away peacefully in the Brooks Health Centre on February 9th, 2003 at the age of 84 years. Born in Jenner on April 13th, 1918 Ernie received his education in Jenner and Grimshaw.
Ernie married Muriel Brydle on December 4th, 1943 in Red Cliff and resided in Jenner. He was a leader in the Jenner 4-H Club and took great pride in his Herford cattle that he raised for over the past 60 years.
Ernie loved his family, cribbage, playing pool, gardening and working with his cattle. He will be remembered for his generosity.
Ernie was predeceased by his wife Muriel, 2 sons Randy and Wayne, parents Mrytie and Daniel. He is survived by his loving family, 3 sons Dan and his wife Gwen of Jenner, Brian and his wife Giselle of DeWinton and Gene and his Laurie of Brooks; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Liz Houseman of Brooks; 2 brothers Alvin (Julia) Aebly of Grimshaw and Edwin Aebly of Brooks; sister Letha Bryson of Red Deer; brother-in-law Jack Brydle of Vancouver and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 15th from Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. George Edmonds officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are all of Ernie’s family and friends. Active Pallbearers are Neil White, Ross White, Reg Howe, George Widdifield, Ken Simpson and Brad Corbiell.
