Craig Fillingham, passed away on March 3, 2020 at the age of 69 due to complications with pneumonia in Camrose, AB.

He is survived by his wife Teresa, his daughter Vicki Lehman (Matt Lehman), son Leigh Fillingham (Kathy Shaw) and grandchildren Tytan and Skyler Lehman, Cash and Tucker Fillingham as well as his brother Eldon Fillingham.

Craig was born in Drumheller AB, on February 26, 1951 to Elmer and Gladys Fillingham (deceased). On September 27, 1975 he married Teresa Dovichak, not knowing that the rest of her clan came with her. He was a Driller for Artesia Drilling, hauled livestock for Ralore Trucking, and loved ranching in Tilley, AB.

He enjoyed many things in life, from four wheeling with his buddies, backpacking in the mountains on horseback and back road traveling. He was an avid gun collector, sailboat captain, lover of books, and weaver of tall tales.

Craig battled life following a stroke in 2008. He was determined to navigate his motorized wheel chair in regular traffic to and from the coffee shop and home. Although he was unable to speak, his mind was as sharp as a tack. He became an militant advocate for his mother in law Victoria Dovichak while they were next door neighbors in Sunrise Gardens.

He was a very empathetic and caring man who would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. He will be missed by those whose lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled from 1:00 – 3:00pm on March 11, 2020 at the Heritage Inn (1239 2 St W, Brooks AB) in Brooks.

Donations can be offered to STARS or HALO Air Ambulance.
