Smadu – Peter Smadu of Bassano, beloved husband of Annette Smadu, passed away in Bassano on Tuesday, April 7th, 2015 at the age of 77 years. Peter was born in Leask, Saskatchewan on May 11th, 1937. He loved playing hockey, baseball, fastball, and was an avid golfer. Peter mostly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, and a sister. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Annette; daughter, Candice (Jesse) Bloor of Brooks; granddaughters, Jade (Branden) Mitchell and great grandson Krew Mitchell, Tianna (Lyle Perry) Bloor, Kelsey (Jeff MacLean) Bloor, all of Brooks; son, Daren (Brenda) Smadu; grandsons Dawson and Colbe Smadu of Sherwood Park, Alberta; sisters, Helen and Victoria; brothers, John and George and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Bassano Health Centre staff for all of their care. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, April 13th at 2:00 PM from the St. Columba Roman Catholic Church, Bassano. Rev. Long Vu Celebrant. Interment followed at Bassano Cemetery.
