SPATH – Rudy Spath of Brooks, beloved husband of Patricia Spath, passed away peacefully in the Brooks Health Centre on Friday, March 20th, 2015 at the age of 76 years. Rudy was born in Empress, Alberta on January 20th, 1939 and was raised on the family farm in Acadia Valley. He enjoyed hunting, making sausage and spending time with many friends and family. Rudy was predeceased by his father George in 1953, his mother Victoria in 1971 and a brother Frank in 2009. He is also survived by his children, daughter Shelly McCharles and her husband Randy of Hardisty, Alberta, son Trevor of Brooks and daughter Trina Taylor and her husband Brad of Brooks; 4 grandchildren, Devan (Theresa) McCharles, Miranda (Derek) Holte, Christopher and Carson Taylor; 4 great grandchildren, Kloe, Easton, Emerson Holte and Claire McCharles; brother Leo (Shirley) Spath of Oyen; sister-in-law Audrey Porter of Lethbridge and numerous nieces and nephews. Rudy will also be missed by Chuck, his loyal hunting dog. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 26th at 11:00 AM from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Rev. Raul Hernandez Celebrant. Interment to follow at Brooks Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at Brooks Royal Canadian Legion.
