It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Kim Spencer on Feb 12, 2015. He was born on Feb 7, 1975 at 10:20 a.m. in the Brooks General Hospital. As a child Rob lived most of his life in Brooks but loved his summers in Ontario visiting family, as he grew older he made a wide variety of friends. He loved to go out for coffee, or to a party or just quietly visit, flashing that infectious smile and laughing and joking. His music was as varied as his friends going from hard rock to country, heavy metal to the moldy oldies, he loved it all. Rob tried a few different jobs but found his calling working with picker trucks, thanks to his mentor Wes.
This job led him away from Brooks to Grande Prairie where he moved on to working cranes, his favorite being the 140 tonne Linkbelt. This passion went to miniature, his crane models were intricate and painstakingly built. In Grande Prairie he again made wonderful friends in his coworkers and the community. His greatest love was his children, Katie and Greyson, they were the light of his life, his dream. They brought out the kindness and thoughtfulness in him, he was an excellent father. Rob will be forever missed but never forgotten.
Rob was predeceased by his grandparents and his dad (Rob). He is survived by his children Katie and Greyson, his mother Angela(Richard), his father Kim (Julie), and his sister Samantha and nephew Jasper. Also morning his loss are Bev and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to either the account set up for the children at the Credit Union in Brooks by mentioning member # 1574574 or mailing to Chinook Credit union PO Box 1137 Brooks, AB T1R 1B9 with the member # on it or to the Kids Help Line in your community. There will be no funeral but a celebration of life at a later date.
