Stevenson – Catherine McMillan Stevenson, beloved wife of Bob Stevenson of Brooks, passed away on January 4th, 2005 in Calgary at the age of 82 years. Born in Lomond on October 23rd, 1922 Kay was raised in the area. She attended Normal School in Calgary and after graduating, she taught school at Dog Pound, Vauxhall and later Retlaw. She and Bob were married in Lethbridge on July 15th, 1948 and farmed in the Retlaw area until moving to Brooks in October of 2004. They had resided at Newbrook Lodge since. Kay loved to curl and to golf and will be lovingly remembered for her strength of character and for her love for her family. She was predeceased by her parents Sam and Dolly; 3 brothers Don, John and Stewart and 2 sisters May and Agnes. She is survived by her family, husband Bob; daughter Louise Stevenson of Calgary and her children Sarah and James; daughter Roberta Pittman and her husband Darcy of Calgary and their children Cody and Megan; daughter June Smith and her husband Ron of Brooks and their children Shaun, Carla (Brian and their daughter Maddison), Robert and Scott; sister Joan (Ed) Lebsack of Lethbridge; brother Bill of Lomond and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 10th from the Mennonite Brethren Church, Vauxhall. Rev. Janice McCloskey of Parkview United Church officiated.
