BELL – Stewart Bell passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on May 1, 2020 at the age of 69. Left to treasure his memory are his wife, Jenny and two children, son Russell (Kayla Kaluzny) Bell of Calgary and daughter Karyn (Jack) Clegg of Medicine Hat and two precious grandchildren, Jackson and Addison Clegg. Stewart is also survived by his sister Kay (Hans) Bossert of Calgary, sister-in-law Sandra Bell of Lethbridge and numerous nieces and nephews. Stewart lived most of his life in Brooks and retired to Medicine Hat five years ago. He was proud to have worked for the same company for 38 years. He had a life-long love of sports. For many years he played with great friends on basketball, hockey and slo-pitch teams. Stewart was an ardent supporter of his children in any endeavour they pursued. He spent countless hours volunteering, coaching, driving and watching them play sports, especially basketball. He liked simple things – a beer, a “stewie” burger, working in his garden or going for a drive. He found new interests in retirement, spending most of the last five summers fly-fishing in the Crowsnest Pass, often with his son Russell. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and they will miss their “Pappo”. He enjoyed winters in Palm Springs, often with friends and family. Stewart achieved his dream of hiking the Inca Trail at the age of 65. He touched numerous lives over the years and will be missed by many. Donations can be made to the Prostate Cancer Center of Calgary or by donating blood in Stewart’s memory. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
