Sharlene Joan Vanak, beloved wife of Terry passed away on September 26, 2013 at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge Alberta at the age of 56 after a courageous battle with cancer. Sharlene and her husband Terry were not only best friends but ran several successful businesses together and enjoyed working, playing, holidaying and golfing together. The biggest joys in her life were her husband and their sons and families. Grandchildren supplied no end of entertainment and smiles for her. Sharlene was an avid horseman and thoroughly enjoyed the challenges of training and showing her own horses. In her younger years Sharlene often led the ladies fastball team with her pitching and batting skills. Sharlene had a love for life and often brought many a smile and laugh to a party. She will always be remembered by her loving husband of 35 years and her sons Ryan (Samantha, Keira, Mathew and Jack), Jason (Kassia and Mason). Twin sister Marlene (Mark and family), Sister Cheryle and family, Brothers Larry and family and Shane (Sharon) and family. Sharlene was predeceased by her father Lawrence Johnston, mother Grace Johnston and nephew Devin Wingrove. Sharlene will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was the most wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. A celebration of life was held at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church 20 Banister Gate in Okotoks Alberta on October 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. by Pastor Henry Poitras, a friend of the family.
