Thomsen – James Peter Thomsen, beloved husband of Elaine Thomsen of Brooks, passed away peacefully in Brooks on March 27th, 2005 at the age of 62 years. Born in Rosemary on March 19th, 1943 Jim received his education in Rolling Hills. He moved to Alaska for the next 10 years working with heavy equipment building roads. Jim and Elaine Hirney were married on September 20th, 1969 in Rolling Hills and resided there until moving to Brooks in 1995. He loved his family, local junior hockey which included the Lakeside Spurs and Brooks Bandits, quadding and especially his 5 grandchildren. Jim will be remembered for his kind and generous heart. He was predeceased by his parents Roy and Mary Thomsen, father-in-law John Hirney and a brother-in-law Ken Hirney. Jim is survived by his loving family – wife Elaine; daughter Linda Elder and her husband Steve of Tilley; 2 sons Rob and his wife Carmen of Rolling Hills and Peter of Brooks; 5 grandchildren Kolton, Amanda, Chris, Serena and Cody; 6 siblings – Bob (Dawn) Thomsen, Bill Thomsen, Stan (Verna) Thomsen, Tom (Hazel) Thomsen, Helen Hawkins and Betty (Ken) Jordy; mother-in-law Lucy Hirney; 5 in-laws Bill (Elaine) Hirney, Gordy (Sharon) Hirney, Sue (Ron) Norton, Margaret (John) Shriner and Janet Mateson and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 4th from the Rolling Hills Cemetery. Rev. John Theiss of Trinity Lutheran Church, Brooks, officiating.
