Till – John Till, beloved husband of Matilda of Brooks passed away in Brooks on December 21st, 2008 at the age of 81 years. Born in Varalaja, Hungary on April 27th, 1927 he moved to Medicine Hat in 1938, receiving his education there. He married Matilda Baksa on February 20th, 1956 and together they farmed in the Tilley and Duchess areas. John worked for the Horticultural Research Centre and the EID. He enjoyed watching and coaching minor hockey. John will be remembered for his love of family and sense of humor. He was predeceased by his parents Magdeline and John Sr. John is survived by his loving family, wife Matilda of Brooks; son Bob (Laurie) Till of Brooks, daughter Karen (Doug) Scott of Brooks; grandchildren Kelly, Sheryl, and Denise Scott, Laurie’s children Cory, Jennyka and Rayvan; 4 great grandchildren and sister Lena (Vince) Gaszler of Raymond. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 30th at 2:00 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. John Thiess officiated.
