ANDERSON – George Vincent Anderson, beloved husband of the late Edith Anderson, passed away peacefully in Brooks on November 19th, 2003 at the age of 84 years. Born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan on May 21st, 1919 he received his schooling in the Maple Creek area. George and Edith were married on July 25th, 1940 in Red Cliff and resided in the Duchess Community until moving to Brooks. He worked as a mechanic with Ford and later Modern Auto until retiring in 1984. George was a member of the Brooks Fire Department from 1947 – 1992 also serving as Fire Chief for several years. He loved his family, camping and fishing. George will be remembered for his quiet nature and simple pleasures. He is predeceased by his wife Edith on October 13th, 2000 and son Ron on March 17th, 1984. George is survived by his loving family, daughter Georgina Sorkilmo and her husband Peter of High River and their 3 sons, Greg of Ottawa, Eric (Lea) of High River and Brian of Greensville, Ontario; 2 sisters; brother and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family service was held on Saturday, November 22nd.
