    Dick – After a lengthy illness, Robert (Bob) Alexander Dick passed away with family at his side at the Brooks Health Center on February 4, 2025, at the age of 77. Bob was born February 28, 1947, in Montreal, Quebec to James and Morna Dick. At a young age they moved to Los Angeles and then New York. When Bob turned 18, he joined the United States Army and served as a paratrooper stationed in Alaska. After his service in the Army, he moved back to Canada to work in the oil and gas industry, eventually becoming an operator for Chevron. Bob later became an EMT and worked for both Brooks and Strathmore EMS. Towards the end of his career as an EMT, he started taking courses in Health and Safety, eventually becoming a Certified Health and Safety Consultant working for companies in the oil and gas industry. During his time in the Brooks, Bob volunteered his time at the Tilley Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter, a First Aid Attendant at many sporting events and as a trainer to numerous hockey teams. Bob was a loving and devoted husband and father who loved going camping and fishing with his family. He is survived by his wife Shirley, daughter Cindy and son Wayne. He is predeceased by his father James, mother Morna, sister Sandra and her husband Benny. The family would like to thank the staff at Home Care and the Brooks Health Center for their care and kindness to Bob and the family. They would also like to thank the Fire Department and the Ambulance service for being there when Bob needed them. Bob had a love for animals, so in lieu of flowers please consider donations directly to the Brooks Animal Protection Society (BAPS), Box 86, Brooks, Alberta T1R 1B2 or a charity of your choice. A private service will be held.
