Hallman – Anne Hallman of Brooks, loving wife of the late Ron Hallman, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, at the Brooks Health Center on February 1, 2025 at the age of 84 years. Anne was born on January 15, 1941 to William and Mary Sawka in Culp, Alberta. She was the fourth of 10 children. In 1958, Anne married Ron Hallman, and together they had three children, Don, Gilbert Dean, and Donna. In 1969, they moved to Rainier, where they established their family farm. Anne was dedicated to her family and community. She was actively involved in the Rainier Community Club, Bow Slope United Church, and various other community activities. Anne worked for some local business in Rainier; Oasis Restaurant; Rainier General Store; South Slope Feeders. Many wonderful friendships and memories were formed and continued through the years. In 1999, Ron and Anne moved into Brooks for their retirement. One of Anne’s passions was traveling. Anne, her mother Mary, and sisters, Helen and Vickie all travelled to Isreal. It was a trip of a lifetime! Other destinations she travelled to included New Zealand, Ireland, Mexico, Newfoundland, and many states in the US. Anne loved to work on puzzles, our family celebrations always included mom’s “puzzle table.” Anne is survived by her son Don (Vivian); daughter Donna (Ray); grandchildren, Chad, Jeff, Cheryl, Ashley, and Michelle and six great grandchildren; sisters, Nancy, Helen, and Vickie. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Ron Hallman, son Gilbert Dean Hallman, her parents and numerous siblings. In accordance with Anne’s wishes, a private family service was held at Rainier Cemetery. Rev. Esther Crews officiated. In memory of Anne, tributes may be made directly to Rainier Community Hall, Box 68, Rainier, AB T0J 2M0.
