A new application will have to be filed for the SunAlta Solar PV1 power plant near Bassano.
Last week the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) denied a third extension application that had been filed by 2289994 Alberta Inc. aka Skyline Energy.
In their decision the AUC noted that no advancement has been made towards construction of the project and while the company noted that multiple time extensions are an inefficient use of the Commission’s time, the did request that they be allowed to retain the opportunity to file a future extension if progression can be demonstrated.
The Commission found that an additional time extension is not in the public interest.
“The Commission finds that processing repeated time extension applications for this project indefinitely, when no demonstrable progress has been made is not efficient or warranted in this case given the likely need to update project information when 2289994 Alberta Inc is ready to move forward with this project.”
The AUC rescinded the original October 2023 approval and the connected approval to connect to Fortis.
