Anthony – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lawrence Anthony in Brooks on January 12, 2025 at the age of 66. Surrounded by his loving family, Lawrence passed peacefully, leaving behind a larger than life personality, a dedication to nature and strong family bonds, often shared over coffee. Born on September 29, 1958 in St. John’s Newfoundland, Lawrence was the cherished son of Anna Maria Anthony and Robert Malbourne Anthony and was the eldest of 8 children. In 1971, the family moved to Alberta where Lawrence started a life committed to his career and community connections. He married his loving wife Connie on March 4, 1978 and together they built a family and home to be proud of. Lawrence was a dedicated employee and leader who spent 48 years with IGA, later known as Freson Bros. His colleagues and friends remember Lawrence as a hard working and passionate man who took great pride in his work. An animal lover at heart, Lawrence purchased an acreage and transformed it into a small hobby farm. His home became a place of amusement, with many animals that brought interest to his family and friends. He was strong minded and often showed his love for his family and friends through jokes and sarcastic teasing. He had a big presence and an even bigger sense of humour. Lawrence is predeceased by his parents Anna Maria Anthony and Robert Malbourne Anthony, wife Connie Anthony, son Charles Anthony, brothers Robert Anthony, William (Bill) Anthony, James John Anthony, nephew Robert Anthony Jr and son in law Don Schoeneman and stepfather Gerald Dennis Blundon. Lawrence is survived by son, Larry (Jeannie) with children Hannah, Madison, Destinee and Lily; daughter, Brandy (Tim) with children Aidan, Donny (Lanuyah) with great granddaughter Berkeley and Raeanna; son, Nicholas, son Vincent (Helena) with children Hayden, Aysha, Vaida and Ainslee, sister Doris (Bob), brother Roaly, sister Mary, and brother Gerald. Lawrence’s life was an example of achievement, loyalty, and dedication. He will be remembered for his playfulness, big spirit and commitment to his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the hearts and laughter of all who knew him. A Private Family Service will be held.
