In Loving Memory of
Clara Myrtle May Sharpe
July 24, 1937 – December 30, 2024
It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Clara Sharpe a remarkable woman whose strength, love, and wisdom left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Surrounded by family Clara peacefully passed away on December 30, 2024, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. True to her character, in her final days, she reflected on her life with gratitude, proclaiming that she lived an amazing life and had no regrets.
Born on July 24, 1937, in Smithville, Ontario, to George and Marjorie Adams, Clara grew up with a strong sense of family and an unshakable determination that would define her life. She was predeceased by her loving husband and best friend of 47 years, Gordon Sharpe with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and adventure. Together, they built a beautiful family and a legacy of hard work and resilience.
Clara was also predeceased by her beloved children, Candy Hamm and Douglas Sharpe as well as her grandsons BJ and Tyler Sharpe. Clara is also predeceased by several siblings, in-laws, and dear friends who were part of her incredible journey. She now joins them in eternal peace.
Clara’s surviving children carry forward her legacy: Lori (Mike) Ferner of Calgary, AB; David Sharpe of Toronto, ON; Darrell Tanner of Edmonton, AB; Bob (Debbie) Sharpe of Beaverlodge, AB; Sherry (Max) Desjardins of Warren, ON; Ken (Arlane) Sharpe of Brooks, AB, and Dave Hamm (son in law) of Munson, Ab. Her heart overflowed with pride and love for her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her precious great-great-grandchild. They were her greatest joy and the source of her brightest smiles. As well as her sisters, Donna and Sharon Robbins of Ontario, and many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was a woman of immense strength, independence, and honesty. She never hesitated to speak her mind, offering advice that was as direct as it was full of love. She was the heart of her family, the steady voice of reason, and the unwavering source of support. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and her presence brought warmth and wisdom to all who gathered around her.
Clara’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and living fully. Though her absence leaves an ache in our hearts, her spirit lives on in the countless memories she created and the lessons she imparted. As she would want us to remember, she lived a life filled with love, purpose, and no regrets, a life well-lived and deeply loved.
We will miss her fiercely but find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her loved ones, watching over us with pride and love. Until we meet again, may you rest in eternal peace.
A family graveside celebration of Clara’s life will be held a later date to honor her incredible journey and the many lives she touched.
