Watson – Miles Maurice Watson – Age 77, of Brooks, Alberta passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family and loved ones on December 25, 2024, in the Brooks Health Centre. He was born to the late Jennie and Chester Watson on July 26, 1947 in Truro, Nova Scotia where he lived most of his years before moving to Alberta in 2002. Miles worked hard all of his life as an automobile mechanic but also in the forestry and oil and gas industries. Miles loved his cars and had many of them. He could build a car from the bottom up and even built race truck in his retirement. Miles’ favorite place to go was the garage. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family as he made many voyages driving across the country and back again to see family and friends. Miles was a stoic man and not one to complain. He lived with gratitude and integrity. Miles was mild and meek in his manner, but not to mistake it for weakness, he was strong in character. One of the phrases he loved was ‘don’t forget the salt’. Miles is survived by his children; Kim (Dutch), Tracy, Nathaniel (Keisha), Brienne (Kyle), and Chester; his brother, Laurie and his sisters, Barbara, Nina, and Eleanor; grandchildren, Cinnamon, Cherokee, Luciel, Liam, and Connor. Besides his parents, Miles was predeceased by his wife, Gale; sisters, Ola and Carrie and brothers, Vincent, Reg, and Harrison. From the bottom of our hearts, the family would like to thanks to the staff at Brooks Health Center for their care during his time there. Miles received a lot of love there and he talked about the staff as “family” who gave him peace of mind. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held in the Maritimes in the New Year.
