    Levie – Boni Marie Levie of Brooks, beloved wife of Randy Levie, passed away in Medicine Hat, AB, surrounded by family and loved ones on Monday December 23rd, 2024 at the age of 61 years, after her long courageous battle with cancer. Born in Edmonton, AB on April.13th, 1963 to Elaine Foo (Fetter). She resided in Calgary through her formative years alongside her twin sister Kim, brothers Mike and Rick, mother Elaine, and father Edward. Boni started her college education at the University of Calgary taking a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, when she found her passion in teaching, receiving her Bachelors of Education from the University in 1987. Boni started the first year of her career in Loon Lake a northern Metis community of Alberta. She then accepted a teaching position in Brooks at Central Elementary School moving her to the community. Later she transferred to the Brooks Composite High School as a guidance councillor. Shortly after making the move to Brooks, Boni met the love of her life Randy Levie, a long-time resident of the community, through Randy’s sister Char. They married on February 14th, 1990 in Brooks. They welcomed their first son Brennan in 1991, and their second son Kelson in 1994. While balancing motherhood, Boni also pursued her Masters Degree in Education at the University of Lethbridge graduating in 1997. As her sons grew, she was widely involved in their interests. Whether it was tying skates on the bench, or cheering from the sidelines, she volunteered with many sports associations her sons were involved with and the schools she taught in. Boni had a heart for others, she held the chair position with the Brooks Woman’s Shelter, until 2000, and was honoured as the Brooks Citizen Of The Year that same year. She continued her work with Grasslands Public Schools as a grade one teacher until her retirement in 2018, with a grand total of 30 years as an educator. In retirement she had a passion for art and painting, relaxing with a good book, spending time with her Eckankar group, travelling with numerous close friends, and spending quality time with her grandchildren Archer and Everly. Boni is survived by her husband Randy, her son Brennan (Kristen), her son Kelson, grandchildren Archer and Everly, her mother Elaine (Fetter) Foo, twin sister Kim (Brian) Moncur, brother Rick (Jennifer) Foo, and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Edward Foo, and brother Mike (Maryse) Foo.

    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11th at 11:00 AM from the Heritage Inn and Convention Centre. Rev. John Theiss officiating. Interment to follow at Brooks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Boni’s memory can be made directly to “Art for Boni” at Red Roof Studio helping fund accessible art classes for children and teens in the community.
