Following an in-camera meeting county council passed a motion to ratify the new collective agreement with CUPE and to defer the Rosemary Fire Agreement conversation for one year.
The last time the county and the village had a fire agreement was in January 2018 which saw the county agree to fund 100 per cent of future apparatus.
It was agreed to cost share upgrades to the fire hall, that Rosemary would pay its annual debenture of $7,823 until 2027 to cover the costs of its 2002 built fire hall and that the village would remain the hall’s sole owner.
The debenture is included as a cost shared operating expense in the annual budget.
