LYSTER – Glen Lyster
Born: February 13, 1959
Passed Away: October 10, 2024
Glen leaned into the Brooks community with a sense of service. He was a committed financial advisor who took pride in educating his clients and helping his wife Nancy run Cosmo Hair Studio for many years. He ran for mayor, spent 6 years on city council, served as the President of Brooks Chamber of Commerce, and coached his son’s soccer team for 14 years. He was a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do and could chuck a pretty hefty roundhouse kick.
Glen and Nancy traveled the world together. Hiking to Mt. Everest Base Camp, summiting Machu Picchu, canoeing the Amazon River, scuba-diving the Galapagos Islands, water-skiing Lake Newell and snow-skiing all over The Rockies. They always made an effort to give back – helping build homes in Macedonia and Cambodia. They brought their family on many trips and inspired the next generation to keep exploring this beautiful planet we live on.
On the outside, he was ambitious. On the inside, he was sensitive. Different aspects of a man shine through at different chapters and though he will be remembered by many for his high energy drive for life, his last chapter leaves an imprint of gentle kindness on his loved ones.
His spirit will guide his family to lean into life and not just watch it go by.
They are grateful in this difficult time of grieving that they get to look back on so many magical memories with an incredible man.
