Editor, The Bulletin;
I’d like to reach out to our city council members, the great volunteers of our Municipal Planning Commission, and the citizens of Brooks, to apologize for letting everyone down. I enjoyed being an MPC member, and the people were great. I would have WAY RATHER met with them in person, unfortunately things have made Zoom meetings a standard, and that was a struggle for me. As with my other volunteering, we meet face to face, get to know each other, and have the opportunity to speak candidly. I appreciate that the meetings were curt, and to the point, but I still had a hard time breaking away from work.
I felt the paper’s article, regarding my dismissal from the MPC, seemed a bit abrasive for a volunteer position. I’ve lived, worked and participated in the Brooks community for 35 years. I don’t think, in that time, I’ve done anything that deserves a tarnishing newspaper article. If I have, please feel free to approach me personally, and preferably privately. Also, as all community minded people are aware, volunteers are getting hard to find / recruit / keep. Please don’t do anything that would discourage the ones we have.
Thank you, and please try hard to get out, and enjoy this weather, before it turns cold.
Jim Third,
Brooks, AB.
