Scheuerman – Laverne Scheuerman of Brooks, beloved husband of the late Della Jean Scheuerman, passed away in Brooks on Thursday, June 13th, 2024 at the age of 91 years. Laverne was born on October 24th, 1932 in Duchess, Alberta. He worked in farming and held various other jobs until 1959 when he began to work for the Town of Brooks. His career there continued until retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Brooks Evangelical Free Church for over seventy years and served there in various volunteer positions. Laverne was predeceased by his wife, Della, of 64 years, his parents Constantine and Lola; by his brother and sister-in-law, Elwood and Beth; by two grandchildren, Patrick and Jennifer; and by his son-in-law, Dirk van Nieuwkerk. He is survived by his children Colleen van Nieuwkerk (Dick), Bernice and Rod McDonald, Terry and Eileen Scheuerman, Ken and Reta Scheuerman, and Michael and Rym Scheuerman; by his twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and by two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 19th at 11:00 am from Brooks Evangelical Free Church. Pastor Garth Everett officiating. A Private Family Graveside will be held on Thursday, June 20th from Brooks Cemetery. Pastor Garth Everett Officiating.
