HULSMAN – Janna (Jenny) Hulsman passed away at the Brooks Health Centre on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 with family by her side, she was 93 years old.
She was born in Ruwiel, Holland to Jochem & Pietje Van Voorst on July 8, 1923, obtained her schooling in Utrecht, Holland.
Enjoyed skating the canals in their area & farm life.
She married Tony Hulsman on February 24, 1953 & immigrated to Lethbridge, Alberta Canada.
After a short period of time they moved to the Rolling Hills area where they started a family.
After a few years they moved to the Gem area & started up their farm where Janna continued to be a wife & mother to her family.
She raised three children, they sold the farm in 1981 and moved to Brooks.
She would relax in her spare time by reading and doing crochet and needlepoint. She is best remembered for her “kindness”.
She was predeceased by her parents, brother Cor & sisters, Wilma, Henderyntje, Eefje, Ryka & son George.
She is survived by husband Tony, daughter Effy and son Henry (Maureen), three grandchildren and two great granddaughters.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the Brooks Evangelical Free Church, pastor Garth Everett officiating, interment at Brooks Cemetery.
