Philpott – Sarah Ann Philpott, (known as SADIE) age 98, passed away peacefully June 7th, 2004, in Brooks to be with the Lord. Waiting for her was her beloved husband George Philpott, her son Lyle Philpott, and her daughter Donna Philpott. Sadie is survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be greatly missed by many other family and friends. Sadie was born in NewCastle on Pine, England June 18th, 1905, but spent most her life in Brooks. Sadie loved curling, golfing, and played Bridge every week with her beloved friends. She was an excellent cook, her apple pies were her specialty. She was active in the community and Eastern Star. Sadie Philpott was a real lady. Marjorie Stuart and Rose Northcott as well as many family and friends were looking forward to celebrating Sadie’s 99th birthday June 18th, 2004. The staff of the nursing home where she resided in her later years all loved Sadie and will miss her dearly. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 11th from the Brooks United Church. Rev. George Edmonds officiated. Active Pallbearers were Dana Philpott, Darrell Schmal, Greg Phipott, Allan Haney, Bill Haney and Lawrence Schmaltz.
