Verostek – Mary Ann Verostek of Brooks, beloved wife of the late Fred Verostek, passed away in Brooks on Wednesday, September 21st, 2022 at the age of 87. Mary was born on April 12th, 1935 in Onoway, Alberta to Stephen and Maria Mrakava. The family then moved to the Tilley area. Mary and Fred were married on November 10th, 1952. They purchased land and started their farm in 1953. Mary was actively involved in farm life, loved her garden and market garden and baking. Mary volunteered in the Catholic Church for many of their activities for many years. Mary was predeceased by her husband Fred, parents Stephen and Maria Mrakava, all her siblings and her daughter-in-law Lorraine Virostek. She is survived by her son Ray and daughter Carol Ramalho (Geoff). Grandchildren Ralaina Virostek, Derek Virostek (Louise), Michelle Goodman (Aaron), Candice Ramalho and her husband Eric. Her precious great grandchildren Walker, Corbin, Kinsey and baby Mia. As well as several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to all the care givers and friends who helped in Mary’s later years. A Family Service will be held. Rev. Marino Infante officiating. Interment at Brooks Cemetery.
